Cheryl Hall

Cheryl’s play Blood Thinner appeared in Series G of the Strawberry One Act Festival in 2008. Her most recent play script; The Dowager Daughters of Transcendence produced at eta Creative Arts Foundation in Chicago, Illinois was nominated as “best play” by the Black Theatre Alliance Awards. For four seasons Cheryl was the voice of “Fadelia Walker” on Bodylove and director of Staying Well in Camberwell, both radio dramas produced by Media For Health.

 

A winner of the prestigious Lois S. Gerren Award for Excellence in Scenic Design (for The African Company Presents "Richard III"), she received her MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Arizona. Previous directing credits include Home, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone , Ruined (co- directed with Jonathan Fuller) and Intimate Apparel. Cheryl teaches hundreds of students every semester at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
